About the transfer station

The transfer station located in Berryville offers numerous benefits. Perhaps the most significant is the savings that are achieved by our being able to unload individual collection trucks at the site, then compact the waste into a packer box which is then transported to a permitted land fill. We often times will pull a trailer as well, enabling us to reduce the miles traveled and the related labor and fuel costs even more.

In 2007 over 15,000 tons of material was compacted and then transported and disposed of.

Procedural changes

The Carroll County Solid Waste District Board approved a motion for a procedural change at the Transfer Station, located at 1106 Industrial Park, Berryville.

This change is mainly due to auditing purposes and to more efficiently service our customers.

Currently, the forms of payment accepted are check, and credit/debit cards.

Punch Card System

Effective October 12, 2020, the Transfer Station will go to a “Punch Card” system. After this date, the only forms of payment accepted at the Transfer Station will be punch cards, check, and credit/debit cards. The Transfer Station will no longer take cash.

Each card will be $20.00 and will have 20 punches on each card.

For Example:
15-gallon size bag is $1.00, which equals one punch,
30-gallon size bag is $3.00, which equals three punches, etc.

The cards will be available for purchase at the Transfer Station and the Administrative Office located at 706 S Main, Berryville. The Administrative Office will be the only site that accepts cash for the purchase of punch cards. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as we move forward with this procedure.

New prices effective January 1, 2024
